Your FSP needs to be at EM320_040, EL320_040, EH320_040 (depending on which
model you have) to go to V6R1. That should be the min. firmware that is
Permanently applied as well. You would want to update the HMC to the
corresponding version before upgrading the FSP.

Subject: os400 6.1

I am on power 6 and planning to do the OS400 6.1 upgrade on my lpars which
are running V5R4M5.
I have dual FSP and HMC is at Version 7

Questions
1. is there a minimum level of HMC version and FSP version I have to be
before I can do Os400 6.1 upgrade.
2. Since I have dual FSP do I need to shutdown all the lpars as what I think
is that If needed I can upgrade the HMC anytime as lpars need not come down
for it but then
since I have dual FSP , is it possible to upgrade one of the FSP and then
upgrade the 2nd FSP without bringing the lpars down.

Thks in advance
