Jim,

In my experience it's not very clean to do something like that with AFP because images have to be converted AFP resources.

However we have had a lot of success with customers generating forms with embedded images using our iForms software and then merging in static documents such as PDF files or Word, Excel or Autocad documents to create entire packets for email or print distribution.

Not sure if that's what you're thinking ?

Brian

have you tried the afprsc option with jpg and/or tiff files, especially without infoprint server installed.

if this worked it could be way cool to embed variable images from the ifs in documents like customer invoices. we could attach installation instructions, service bulletins etc. based on the parts on the document. The invoice when retrieved from the document management system would then be a complete image of what was sent to the customer.

we are currently on v5r4 so can't try it.

thanks

Jim
