As a previous person suggested, cpysplf could work for you

CRTPF FILE(QTEMP/TESTOVR) RCDLEN(132)
CPYSPLF File(QSYSPRT) ToFile(Qtemp/TestOver) +
SplNbr(*LAST) CtlChar(*S36FMT)
MonMsg MsgId(CPF0000) /* In case no data */

The CtlChar(*S36FMT) is something we use that accomplishes what we want
..... you probably want to use *None, as your file has no field attributes
..... or press F4 on that parm for options
........ and then press Help for more info

Hopefully this might help
.... if not, forget I mentioned it

Au contraire! I do this all the time.

But there are rules that need to be followed. (See prior posts.)

1. You CANNOT over ride a printer file to a database file, period.

My test code is as follows:
PGM
CRTPF FILE(QTEMP/TESTOVR) RCDLEN(132)
OVRDBF FILE(QSYSPRT) TOFILE(QTEMP/TESTOVR)
WRKJOBSCDE OUTPUT(*PRINT)
ENDPGM

However, the job fails with:
CPF9850 - Override of printer file QSYSPRT not allowed.

Any ideas why this simple override is not working?
