The 170's were a little touching about power and a flakey UPS would cause
this type of symptom. With the system at DST or at least at a Restricted
State, unplug the UPS from the wall and see if it holds th eysstem for at
least a minute. If it doesn't hold for that short of time, then replace the
batteries or the UPS

My user is not giving me a clear answer of exactly what happened.

He is saying that the panel was normal but the terminals were down.

Unfortunately he reIPLed the system to resolve whatever it was.

We will have to see if/when it happens again.

What exactly drops? Full system reboot or just the network connect
drops?

If just the network connect, you can use iNav System Monitor to see if
you are having packet issues. Any messages in QCFGMSGQ or QSYSOPR or
QSYSMSG? It could be an IP address conflict, bad NIC, bad Switch, bad
power?

More detail of what you mean by drops will generate more educated
guesses.
