My problem is not whether my HMC will support a certain version of software
but whether the current HMC hardware and software can manage a Power7 box.
Perhaps that's understood but I need to confirm it before I tell my boss I
just saved us $10k.
I have asked out TechLine guy at IBM to give me (us) a definitive answer.
I'll report on what I learn.

I also have the 7310-C04 and I am running V7R3.5.0.3. It is currently
managing our Power5 520 and will be managing our new Power 7 8202-E4B.
Our business partner tells us it will work. I was told that it will not
run the latest and greatest HMC software. I will have to express my
concerns with my sales rep.
