I happen to be at a customer who has a time zone that is not covered by
IBM's time zone settings so I have had to make manual adjustments twice
a year to keep these folks on the correct time. For reasons no one can
adequately explain, this customer (a native Alaskan community) doesn't
change with DST. The history is that they always stay on Pacific
Standard time and don't change. So for part of the year (like now) they
are on the same time as Alaska Daylight Savings Time but when DST ends,
they don't change, which puts them on Pacific Standard time.
I have tweaked the settings again and set them for QTIMZON = QN0800U
and QUTCOFFSET = -08:00 but I don't know if the selection will prevent
the OS from adjusting the time when DST ends on Sunday. In other words,
how do I *prevent* the clock from changing?
