No, the source provider is not either CVS or SVN - it was developed, according to the presentation I heard, by someone in IBM very familiar with both those and Clearcase - and came up with a similar and simpler mechanism, they say.

I got that information at the Rational Innovate roadshow they had here in Mpls, which 3 of us attended.

Not yet. I attempted to install it and ran in to a long list of issues, from a corrupt zip to the requirement to install WAS. I finally shelved it although I do want to look at it as an alternative to CVS/SVN. I think they had some special licensing for Open Source projects, which was where I was heading with it.
