Yeah, ALWNULL does...301B26EEBA69C vs. 301B26DEBA69C. Such a small difference my aging eyes misses it. My apologies on that one.

CCSID and DEFAULT aren't changing it on my system. CCSID is one that I knew because of the NLS implementations I do. DEFAULT I checked. ALWNULL I got wrong :)

As far as checking, yes, it's easy, as long as you do it up front :). I do think it's pretty important to understand what does and what doesn't though. It makes decisions easier...

But ALWNULL certainly does. :)

As does VARLEN and I'm sure others....

My point is that certain keywords affect the Record Format Identifier
and others don't.

It's easy enough to check to see if the record format identifier is
changed or not for a given change to the source.
