Server is SFTORSOS. Share is perse. If I leave off the share, MD completes, but nothing is visible. Add the share, and MD fails with path not found. I tried using / and \ characters. May have used them in wrong combination. Thought it was sftorsos/perse. Looked up the command on ibm site - may have missed seeing examples, if they were there.

So, what is the format?

Then the share is public. After you mkdir '/qntc/server/share' you can
use wrklnk '/qntc/server/share/*' to see the share. Now if the server
is a 2008 server the iSeries may not be able to see it. Also the share
name must be less than 12 character and the server less than 15. It has
bit me a couple of times.

Well, that shoots down my idea. The ultimate server is 60 miles away,
and there is no access to it by low level folks like me. But, I do not
understand how another server here can connect to it, without logging
on. It and the remote server are in different domains. Further, I was
able to browse the remote server yesterday from my pc, with no login to
the remote site - doesn't mean I would have been able to see content,
though.
