Well, I have not tried BeyondCompare, so I could not comment on that but, to
be able to compare source members directly in WDSc and to be able to modify
them in that environment makes it worthwhile to me. Besides, the RSE
extensions have some nice features, as being able to work directly with
spool files, and an easy way to show an edit window in (almost) full screen
among others. The plugin is free, so maybe you could just download it and
try it for yourself. The URL is:

I suppose that I could be considered "old school" (more than 30 years
working with IBM midrange systems) but once I was able to get my hands on
WDSc it was "bye, bye SEU". In fact, I feel lost when I have to work in my
co-workers PCs (who seem unable to scale up to WDSc) )

I may have lost your original intent in this thread but, have you
tried the Softlandings RSE extensions for WDSc? They allow you to
compare sources and include only the source statement portion of the
file...

If you have a NetServer share to, say, library VERN, and there is a
source file named QRPGLESRC there, then this is a way to refer to it
without having to do the CPYTOSTMF.

\\10.10.10.10\vern\qrpglesr.file\mymbr.mbr

vern is the share to the library on server located at 10.10.10.10

Your i Access Netserver share has to be set up to convert for objects
with extension mbr
