Yeah, 7.1 seems a no-brainer. The object conversion issue is the same as 6.1, so nothing more to do there.

just from this week alone. Man I can't wait to get to the next set of
releases.... praying for a full tilt up to 7.1. That would be the best.

Hi Vern, Bryce,

You can actually create a source physical file with a record length of
32766. The problem (for some of us) is that SEU will only work with
source files that are 240 or less in length.

WDSC will honor that length.

You should be using the default length of 92 for SQL source used by
RUNSQLSTM - because anything after 80 is ignored, anyhow. In WDSC you
will need to be careful about that length - it won't reformat for you,
as it does for CL. At least so far as I know. You will get a message
when you type past the data length (not record length).

It is also possible to modify what length WDSC thinks it should use - I
forget the command right now.

You know what. You nailed it. That was it. My source member is a

up WDSC the member opened up with truncated lines. Yesterday the local
copy was showing without the truncations. But after you close the
member
and reopen it then you get the fresh look from the DB. Is there a way
to
make a srcpf longer than 112? I thought you could make it much longer?

Is the statement too long for the source member? Does it run into a
comment portion of the line? Thus, resulting in part of it being
truncated at runtime?

The previous statement does end with an error but it is only severity
20
telling me the table was created but no journaled. I have 7 create
table
statements and they all finish with this error, but the runsqlstm
doesn't
choke on them.

Bryce,

Try running it in a source by itself and see if it gets an error. I'd
bet
the create table statement in front of it is the statement in error
(semicolon or no semicolon).

It is not the only statement in the source but all the previous
statements

have semicolons. I tried wrapping the select in parens and got the
same
error.

Bryce

Is this the only statement in the source? Is there a semicolon missing
from a preceding statement?

And does the SELECT need to be wrapped in parentheses?
