Search the archives for Scott Klement and excel. There's plenty of examples on creating the excel file on the IFS. Then you can use the SNDM (if available) to email the file as an attachment.

Personally, I use the CGIDEV2 stuff to create an HTML table, then use WrtHTMLToSTMF with an extension of xls then email it to the user. When they open the file, it opens excel and formats the table cells in the excel cells.

Subject: Automating Quary -> File -> Excel

Once a month I do the following:

1. Run a query to create a file.

2. Import that file into Excel.

3. Prettify the spreadsheet.

4. Email the prettified spreadsheet to a user.

What is the best way to automate this process?
