This is not a new problem. I remember writing an op-ed piece in Midrange
Computing in 1998 or 1999 about this very topic and how IBM was constantly
changing the URL and the content to the point where you couldn't find
anything.

At least they are consistently annoying.

They have just plain made it worse... Things that were on the initial page
are now buried deep. That along with the constant moving target of where
the data is.. I find that 'Google is My Friend' and my first choice.

Try http://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/i/databases/index.html

I know that IBM are trying to make the support site better - I found
this by doing some backspaces and forwards and other odd ways of
navigating. I also started with www.iseries.ibm.som instead of the one
you used.

The portal thing could be good - I haven't mastered it yet. There is a
tutorial - at least there used to be, I think. You are able to customize
it for you preferences. At first, it will be a change, and change is
always difficult. But I agree, I was used to what they had. Of course, I
remember not liking that either, at first.

This is in response to complaints that the site is hard to find things
on - heh - hope it doesn't backfire for them.
