You need to get to a higher release to Save Spool files. Depending if your
machine would support it, going to V5R4 is extremely easy (perhaps because I
have done hundreds of them, follow directions it isn't too difficult).
Going to V6R1, is also easy if you run ANZOBJCVN and do all the other
preparations. Those are your only two releases you can directly upgrade to
from V5R3. I would go to V6R1.

I scanned the archives and saw something about spooled files NOT being
included in SAVES - until V5R4 release? We are conducting a DR test,
and I see that the Saved and Held spooled files under the particular
printers on our live system did not make it over to the DR system. We
are on V5R3. I guess this is normal procedure.
