Hello Åke

Is there a chance of a CCSID difference? If you execute DSPFFD against them, is that identical? If so, I think this is a bug and IBM need to explain this one.

I read in the docs that there is a chance for the format level IDs to be the same and still have differences - a remote chance - and this may happen with a long record format with lots of fields - something like that. So they are not absolutely guaranteed to be unique for all possible combinations. Still, this seems odd.

Bon chance!

These are the files for the CPYF:

Dest HCSITRLOG format id 42A0FD7F7A38F

Copy command:

FROMFILE(HCSITR) TOFILE(REXCOMHCS/HCSITRLOG) TOMBR(NEWMBR) MBROPT(*REPLACE)

Errmsg:
CPF2962 "FMTOPT(*MAP) or FMTOPT(*NOCHK) required for copy."

The message says that fields have different attributes or positions in the from and to -files

But as I look at the start and end positions and data types of each field in the two files they are identical.

Also the dspobjd *service shows same source file and member as base for the creation of both files.
