I don't support BRMS, you could write a program to either try vayring it
back on. You could retrieve the device description information, delete the
device, then recreate it and then vary it back on.

Hi ,

We have BRMS installed on the AS400.The configuration of Tape Library/Tape
Device is as follows:

Opt Description Status
TAPMLB03 VARIED ON
TAP03 VARIED OFF

If the backup fails here and the tape library cannot be varied on again to
start the backup, then what is the way to fix this issue.

I have heard about deleting the device description and recreating it but do
not eaxctly know how to do it.

Please can anyone let me know the steps to create the device description
and starting the backup.

Many Thanks
Darell
