If you're really trying to compute 'correct' sizes, the 9999s are wrong.
In many cases we're just trying to find out who created a massive
something that's eating our disk. Objects sized all 9999s are first
suspects!

We did go back and change some of our queries to use the calculated
number-- although in some early incarnations I swear that the old size
variable did NOT equal the calculated size (even allowing for rounding
&c).
