Hi David

If I read this right, I'd say there's no way to automate creating a *QRYDFN - they are not based on source or anything else - no CRTQRYDFN command - you have to go into the interactive WRKQRY interface to do it.

I might suggest moving to query management queries. These are SQL statements that can be kept in source, then the *QMQRY can be created with the CRTQMQRY command. And they are executed with STRQMQRY. Lots of flexibility - and you can convert *QRYDFNs to *QMQRYs - with some important issues - but there is an ANZQMQRY command that can point out the difficulties.

STRQMQRY can also run *QRYDFNs - again, there are some limitations, as IBM have not completed the work in this area, in my opinion.

Hi

When migrating a file, how can I automate the process of recreating the *QRYDFN? After all this time I'd never even thought of it as it is not I who pushes the button to deploy. The boss finally complained about having to recreate them manually as they crashed. This will be an addition to our home-grown CMS.

Thanks.
