You can do that by having your CLLE program invoke Info-Zip or 7-Zip (both of which are free and run in PASE) or by purchasing a commercial alternative, such as PKZIP.

Personally, I prefer 7-Zip, because it's open source (and free) and supports a much stronger level of encryption than Info-Zip does.

My specs call for a file on the IFS to be zipped and password protected, then sent via SFTP.

We have never created zip files from the iSeries, let alone password protected them.
I need the easiest method possible, if there's more than one way to do it.
