CSC has a product call PowerMHS that sounds to me would satisfy your former
lients needs. I worked with it some back in 2001-2002. Wou can check
thier
ebsite www.csc.com. The software was written in COBOL and had just been
nhanced to include the new (at the time) HIPPA requirements.
I hope this helps.

armest Regards,

ubject: Trying to keep it on "i"?
List -
I have a former client which currently runs their insurance applications
claims and underwriting) on a System i. I helped with their original
mplementation of an AS/400 COBOL-based applications back in the 1990's.
hey are currently involved in a software search for a new application, and
ould prefer an IBM i solution because of their investment in infrastructure
nd staff.
As far as I know, most insurance software vendors have migrated away from
he IBM i platform.
I have suggested that if they have current IBM Power hardware, however,
that
hey could preserve their hardware investment by using a package which could
un on AIX or Linux, and from what I recall in the recent IBM announcement,
he Oracle database actually performs better on Power hardware than on Sun
ardware.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
