The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

CSC has a product call PowerMHS that sounds to me would satisfy your former clients needs. I worked with it some back in 2001-2002. Wou can check thier website www.csc.com. The software was written in COBOL and had just been enhanced to include the new (at the time) HIPPA requirements.
I hope this helps.
Warmest Regards,
Richard Reeve

Subject: Trying to keep it on "i"?
List -
I have a former client which currently runs their insurance applications
(claims and underwriting) on a System i. I helped with their original
implementation of an AS/400 COBOL-based applications back in the 1990's.
They are currently involved in a software search for a new application, and
would prefer an IBM i solution because of their investment in infrastructure
and staff.
As far as I know, most insurance software vendors have migrated away from
the IBM i platform.
I have suggested that if they have current IBM Power hardware, however, that
they could preserve their hardware investment by using a package which could
run on AIX or Linux, and from what I recall in the recent IBM announcement,
the Oracle database actually performs better on Power hardware than on Sun
hardware.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
