I'm having a weird problem with the return value in this subroutine.
Debugging, at ENDSUBR, &RTNVAL = '-1'. At the IF statement after the
CALLSUBR, it has a value of 0. If I put a watch on &RTNVAL, the program
will break at ENDSUBR and at the IF. Anyone seen this?

CALLSUBR SUBR(SUBR01) RTNVAL(&RTNVAL)
IF COND(&RTNVAL *LT 0) THEN(GOTO CMDLBL(FIN))

SUBR SUBR(SUBR01)

CHGVAR VAR(&RTNVAL) VALUE(-1)

ENDSUBR

I'm not on a version that allows for subroutines in CL... but aren't you
supposed to actually return the value (on the RETURN statement), rather than
just change it? Do you want global or scoped variables? Is there in fact a
different &RTNVAL defined within SUBR01 that has nothing to do with the
global one? (Sorry, don't know if that's possible.)
