Subject: RE: PTF Savefile
Thanks to you, Jim, and Chuck. I knew about the QAPZCOVER file, but had a brain freeze and couldn't find it in the archives.
I, also, knew the *Service was for installing PTF's from the save files, though I've never used it. If one uses *Service for PTF installation is there an option of which save files to use? I noticed, for example, that there were PTF save files from over 1.5 years ago. If there is not an option for which save file to use, would I just put these "old" PTF's in the Omit section of the PTF install procedure?

Even though they were downloaded as save files as long as they are part of
the last "problem" or SNDPTFORD you can do either
GO PTF or LODPTF individually. If they are all for the same LPP I'd
probably do LODPTF. GO PTF does them all with one shot.
LODPTF LICPGM(...) DEV(*SERVICE)
or
GO PTF
8. Install program temporary fix package
Device . . . . . . . . . *SERVICE
Automatic IPL . . . . . . N
Then you can try APYPTF, or just IPL if it fits your operation.
If you don't like *SERVICE you can try
LODPTF LICPGM(...) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(Q...)
repeat until done
APYPTF LICPGM(...) SELECT( you can enter multiple ptf's here)
repeat for each LPP.
