I feel your pain with 1/4" cartridges. Many of them die with newer
systems. Decades ago it was almost worth a beer if you got a complete
save on a Basic 4 using their 1/4" cartridge. I'd look at upgrading to
LTO3 or 4. Skip LTO1 and 2. 1&2 aren't a long term solution. You'd fit
all that on 1 LTO3 or 4. Need an IBM link with death warrant dates?
