Wait wait! You're mixing up stuff.

Micro-Partitioning is when using only a percentage of a full CPU,
which can be done in 1 tenths of a CPU.

What you may be talking about is hosting partitions beneath VIOS.
Currently, this is only needed when attaching certain SANs or when
using a Blade. There may be other multipathing scenarios in which this
is needed, but i don't know enough about that.

Another thing you might mean are Guested LPARs - running an LPAR
within the resources of a Parent LPAR - this reduces the amount of
disk controllers you need.
