Well, got it all done. For future reference if anyone needs to do it,
here's the info I can give you.

1. The new battery was part number 42R5070. This replaces an older part
number but this part number is also listed in the pages provided earlier.
From IBM it's about $100, but I got it from a reseller on ebay for $70.

2. I did a full system save first, just to be safe. I haven't done one for
years, so it was a good idea anyhow.

3. I went into service tools and disabled the cache battery (as stated
before and in the instructions).

4. Powered off, and unplugged machine.

5. Removed front cover. This was much easier than I thought it would be.
Two blue tabs at the top corners that pull down and the cover comes right
off.

6. Card was in the bottom right. Pull the 2 locking pieces and slide card
out.

7. Now, you have to remove the battery from the card. This was trick.
It's got a case on it and the instructions say "squeeze" and it will release
it. Well, it wasn't that easy! I did finally get it off, though.

8. Leave the old battery unplugged for at least 1 minute. I unplugged mine
before fighting with the case, so it was easily 5 minutes... lol. Put the
new battery in. This is a little tricky to (again because of the tab.. the
plastic doesn't "give" as much as you think it will)

9. Put it all back together and fired it up. Closed the problems in
WRKPRB, then went into service tools and acknowledged all problems and
deleted them.

Worked great, and was super easy. And to think, IBM quited $4k for this job
(always a worst case scenario). I spent $90. $70 on the battery, and $20
on an anti-static mat and wristband from Radio Shack (after years of working
on PCs I thought maybe it was a good time to get this.. lol).

Thanks again to everyone for their help.

Brad

Thanks a million, Pat. Was a little tricky at first, but found it.. found
a new RoS battery on ebay for 30 bucks less than IBM as well.

Should be a fun weekend... I need to clean the dust out of my baby too.

Thanks, Charles and Pat. I think those links helped the most. Pat,
yours
is more specific but it looks like the info isn't there. The link for
the
PDF draws a blank, and the link to the documentation says it's not
available.

But, the 520 info from Charles post looks like it will be easy enough.

Thanks again!

Now, can anyone help find a part number for the battery? :)
