Why would you want to use LAN Console if you have a HMC? You can just
connect to the HMC, Port 2300 and get your 5250 fix from your PC.

Attach the machine to the HMC before powering it up. The HMC will
automatically add it to the managed system (assuming the HMC is
configured correctly). The HMC will allow you to set ASMI passwords
during initial setup, and you'll be able to access ASMI through the
HMC.
