I think the problem is probably that the outfile for DSPUSRPRF has packed
numerics in it.

One solution would be to run a query over the DSPUSRPRF outfile, create
character versions of any numeric fields using the DIGITS function and
save that output to file using the character version of the fields
instead, then transfer that file, which should transfer correctly.

A bit messy but it works.

Re: Alternate approach to copy user profile to PC

There's no reason FTP won't work. If the file exists on the iSeries, and
if
you're specifying the correct file and member in the FTP statement, you
should be able to do that. Post a DSPFD of the file (showing the top of
the
listing that shows the library and file and the bottom of the listing that
shows the record count) and the FTP subcommand where you do the get.

If you're not able to get it with FTP or a file transfer from iSeries
Access, I would think configuring Netserver (SMB) or NFS would be out of
the
question.

Hi,

I want to copy the user profile dump on my i series to my PC.I tried
doing
this thru
DSPUSRPRF USRPRF(*ALL) OUTPUT(*OUTFILE) OUTFILE(USER).

But I am facing problem in copying the outfile User to my PC.I tried the
FTP commands and also the iseries access. But they are not working.

Please can anyone suggest an alternative approach to do this operation
apart from the one which I am doing.
