Finally got around to submitting the PMR. Basically the reply was "Working as designed." And suggested that I submit a DCR. Might do that eventually, but noted your test (below) on 6.1 and asked, more specifically this time, if there might not be a PTF or two that I'm missing. Also pointed out that, in my opion, it is not a System i Access issue, but a configuration or security issue (they told me to tell the users not to change the device type in System i Access). Anyway, I'm waiting for the reply to my reply on the PMR.

it ROBPRT. Try to connect. Get "E8903 Device not valid for session".

Try to connect and it now works.

Don't think I did anything fancy on this lpar.
