The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Aaron mentioned Virtualization as the Windows answer to
one-server-one-app.
Even though it was never -called- virtualization, and because the system
was stable enough it didn't have to have a completely virtual machine to
do it, the concept of Subsystems has given us the equivalent function--
define the memory to use, and the subsystem merrily chugs along, running
with what you've given it.
And with the added benefit that you can talk to any piece of data on the
system, with needing a virtual FTP connection to do it!

Whoever complained about the grief of installing PTFs never had to deal
with patches for some application programs!
The IBM PTF process is extremely well put together, especially with
Image Catalogs. Download the images, apply the PTFs, and at the next
IPL, voila! Your OS is up-to-date!
