IMO, not really.

I don't think IBM intended users to add VCP to IBM provided commands.

Thus the reason IBM came out with Change Command Exit Program.

Excellent point, Dennis. Once you modify an IBM command other than
changing the defaults, I believe it also comes out of *SYSTEM state -
vague memory of that. And could be problematic, seems to me.

Again, this is a vague memory and might be wrong, still, I'd not mess
with VCPs on IBM commands!
