what version of POI are you using? the newer version do not work as the
classes, etc have been changed since the HSSF service program was written
so the interface does not match. i use the poi-3.0.2-FINAL-20080204.jar
version of POI with no issues.

Thanks,
Tommy Holden

David

Java reports a long stack of possible errors - the one you listed is
described in many places - a google search was productive. The quote I
posted is not about signatures - that is a different error. This one
seems to be about the version supported by a class - that version would
be of the JVM.

Of course, since this is being called in an RPG program, this should
maybe to posted in the RPG list. Or in the Java list, since it is a Java
error, not an RPG error. You'd get better help in the Java list, methinks.

Cause . . . . . : La procédure RPG XLCRTDEMO du programme
FOXWELL/XLCRTDEMO a
reçu une erreur Java "java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:
org/apache/poi/hssf/usermodel/HSSFWorkbook" en appelant

la méthode

"org.apache.poi.hssf.usermodel.HSSFWorkbook".

Is it the version of JAVA on the i or the wrong version of

hssfr4.rpgle?

How do I check?

You'll be doing yourself and others a big favor by indicating
the message ID associated with the error. You copied
everything else but what we need.

sorry RNX0301.

It's the RPG procedure new_HSSFWorkbook() that fails.
D new_HSSFWorkbook...
D PR like(HSSFWorkbook)
D ExtProc(*JAVA:
D 'org.apache.poi.hssf.usermodel-
D .HSSFWorkbook':
D *CONSTRUCTOR)

The message seems to indicate a problem of comparison of signatures.
