If the process is in an apparent loop or hang, then the job status [from WRKACTJOB] and program stack [from DSPJOB] are of interest; i.e. knowing just that the "line number" is changing is not very descriptive. The program and procedure names often are sufficiently descriptive to infer what the job is trying to do, and that job status may be indicative of that also. For example if the procedure name is something like "LockDBFnet" and the job status is LCKW and the "job locks" show a lock being awaited on a logical file in the DBF network, then investigation of the holder of the locked LF would seem a reasonable next-step. If the job status\stack information is [either not helpful or] not available, then one or more formatted LIC process dump may be of interest to infer progress and action(s).

No, just a lock with what I was trying to do.

But the call stack is changing the line number that it is being
executed. It almost seems like the program is in a loop.

if you do a wrkobjlck does is show anything out of the
ordinary.

One of our customers just put V6R1 on over the weekend and
there were not any problems. They put the current cumulative
PTFs on also.

But when I do a CHGPF, it just hangs. I will not finish. The
job log does not show anything abnormal happening.

Searching the internet, I found some HYPER PTFs that we
installed that referred to CHGPF hanging up, but they did not
make any difference. I did not find anything relevant
searching this archive.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
