I've bought one in my years, the same small schwab that Jeff provided
a link too.

I actually found mine at a used office equipment dealer so as I
recall, I got it for a heck of a nice price.

As far as considering what's a reasonable rating....look around your
environment. How close to how much combustible material is your safe
going to be? How many stories above / below it full of stuff that
will burn.

Heck, stop by your local firehouse and some make friends, ask them to
come out and give you some fire safety advice...during which you can
ask them how long and how hot they think your building would burn. :)
Your insurance company may be able to inspect the location and offer
advice.

If you've got the $$$, I'm sure there's a Risk Management / Business
Continuity company out there qualified to make a professional
recommendation

We are looking into media fire safes for the storage of backup media and
software media... I have done a good bit of reading into ratings, testing,
and specs, but am looking for some in the trenches opinions on what rating
is reasonably needed (in terms of 1 hour, 2 hour, or 3 hour protection).
Has anyone out there purchased such a safe, and how did you decide what is
a reasonable level of protection for the cost...?

I have a gut feeling on it, but curious what others may have done...

Thanks!
