I would start by checking autostart jobs and look for and STRPRTWTR (wtr).  Then look at programs that are run daily (or nightly).  You may want to do a search of your CL source file(s) for STRPRTWTR.  The results of this investigation will at least point you in the right direction.

Good luck.

Try WRKCFGSTS...vary off the device...then option 8 (I believe) will then
allow you to delete the device

Subject: Printers and writers

Hello all,

How do I get rid of the unnecessary printers on my AS/400? There are a bunch
of network printers configured, from the system's prior home, I'd like to
get rid of them.
They are now generating tons of error messages like 'LANQMNTR: 01/03/2010
16:30:26 Writer for <SOME_PRINTER> Ended ABNORMALLY! Writer Restarted.' -
this is continuous and I'm afraid it's going to fill up disk, as the system
now appears 'busy' all the time.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly
appreciated!

Jim
