This process is being done for many programs. I wont be able to change the
existing process, so I just add the following to each print job:

Ovrprtf qsysprt outq(elect)
Call or // load (for 36 stuff)
Dltovr qsysprt

Once the spool entry is added to the data queue, I process it. The issue I
had is that the process to use the spool file bombed. The user then deleted
the spool file before I could fix the issue.

If I can stop the user from deleting the spool file from that output queue,
that would be perfect.

Could you put the spool file in a different output queue which is locked
down and then move to the other output queue when you are finished
processing?

Don't think so. Check out the text for CPF4244.

Can the actual printing be done by a different job running under a
different user? By using the USER parameter of SBMJOB (maybe with an
adopted authority program) or by data queuing?

I have a process that ovrprtf outq(elect) for certain reports a user can
run. I have a data queue attached to the output queue that processes the
spool file. The problem I am having is that the users can delete the spool
file before the process is done.

Is there a way of stopping a user from deleting a spool file located in
that
output queue? They will still be the owner of the spooled file.
