I was just going to mention that I seen a project that interfaced directly
to Amazon S3. But you shouldn't rely 100% on backing up to the cloud. What
if (God forbid) Amazon closes up shop suddenly?

You should back up to another source to make sure you are covered. Could
i5/OS interface with a NAS? If it could, a Drobo (w/ NAS attachment) or
something similar could work.

Aaron,

<VENDOR RESPONSE>

You might want to look at our new i2S3 software that handles save/restore
directly with Amazon S3. Here's a link to more information:

What are others doing in the arena of backing up data to digital mediums?
I
am just not a tape guy because that means I have to remember to switch
something out. Right now I have a small Java app that I run and it FTP's
source from the IBM i to my Linux desktop which subsequently is backed up
by
JungleDisk to Amazon's S3 service. What I would like to do is take my PC
out of the mix and backup more than just source (though I am mostly only
interested in source as both of my machines are used for development).
