Naw.. You can REPLACE(fieldname, ' ','') a string with an empty string.

For special requirements you might need to write a UDF (User Defined Function). The blank compression in a string would be trickee.

Do you know if in SQL on AS400 are some bult-in function which can
change some character to another - like dash "-" to space " ", and
other which can delete all space from text - so it will change "TOMASZ SKORZA"
to "TOMASZSKORZA"?
