I think this facility should be supported on all of the OVRxxx commands
(OVRDBF, OVRDSPF, OVRPRTF, etc.) -- so that it would be possible to
"redirect" any existing file to another device (or the web).


I don't know if IBM is listening, but that's an excellent idea. Of course, extending the /F spec is also an excellent idea. Not too long ago they provided for dynamic runtime overrides on /F specs. It seems to me that dynamic overrides should be an option under Open I/O. If (condition) override to (handler1), else override to (handler2).
