The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

The primary committer, Kenneth Pouncey has been absorbed in several
projects and hasn't spent all that much time over the past year although
there was some resurgence of effort this spring. The project was
migrated to svn and there was one person who was looking to
refactor/reorganize the code.
The mailing list is quiet but most of the posts are answered quite
quickly. It is just that the code is so stable so the amount of traffic
is low. I put together some fixes quite a while ago which have not yet
been committed and I recompiled at Java 6 and provided a .jar to Aaron a
while back which is available on my site as well as his. So I have
probably been the most "active" in maintaining it. I was waiting for
the refactor/reorg to be posted to svn so I could then integrate my
changes and get back to one maintained version but the guy who was gung
ho on the work seems to have moved on. There were updates committed as
recently as August of this year.
I believe there is still "expert" level support available. Although I
wouldn't put myself into that class I DO know that there are two or
three guys on the list that know their stuff. And Kenneth, the original
author, is still available.
Pretty much anyone who has a good grasp of Java and 5250 data streams
should be able to support it. I'd be happy to help at any time.

The TN5250J website at sourceforge.net appears to be in a state of neglect. There are too many examples of indifference to enumerate here, but one example is that Aaron Bartell has posted a link to download a .jar file from his web site (http://www.mowyourlawn.com) which fixed an old bug that AFAIK was never incorporated in the "official" release.
If we were to incorporate the TN5250J applet into our Web portal, would it require an inordinate amount of work on our part to support it - since we don't know enough about it? Are there any real experts out there supporting it?
