My bad. I misread what he was wanting to do. I was thinking he had
another similar printer that he would temporarily end the writer on and
move the other one to.

queue
was in use by another writer ....
chgwtr wtr(prt02) outq(PRT01) would succeed in sending spool files in
OUTQ PRT01 to printer PRT02, but then spool files in the PRT02 out
queue would quit going to the printer. Which probably isn't what the
OP wants.
