If that's ok, then it's ok.
Change it from >0 to >1 would return this
' 345'

This seems to work
SELECT * FROM qtemp/lance
WHERE POSITION(' ' IN trim(charfld)) > 0 AND
POSITION(' ' IN trim(charfld)) < LENGTH(TRIM(charfld))

....+..
CHARFLD
1 345
2 5
2 4
*******
