Couple of SWAGs here...

Since you appear to be using a language other than Scott's native USA-EN,
DECIMAL issue is probably related to the "Decimal point" separator
attribute. In USA, this is set to *PERIOD by default. In a lot of other
countries it is set to *COMMA. So, either change the attribute to *PERIOD
using F13 in STRSQL, or change the periods to commas in the source itself.

As for SQL7909, it means that DB2 could not find the program (or a service
program) that you've defined as a target ("mufunctn") in your library list,
so it could not modify its PAS (program associated space) area with the fact
that it is now a target of an external UDTF registration. This will not
prevent the UDTF from working normally, but it also means if you were to
SAV/RST this programs (service pgm), that the OS would not automatically
update SQL catalogues with the UDTF registration. In other words, not a big
deal.

Subject: Scott's IFSDIR UDFT

Hi,

When I run Scott's program CRTIFSDIR, I get this error :

Elément syntaxique 20,0 n'est pas correct. Eléments possibles : <INTEGER>.

If I take out the DECIMAL fields, the function is created but the message
SQL7909 says that it can't be registered and restored. I think it's
referring to the external name not existing.

I can create it with the decimal fields in iNav, but stil get SQL7909.

CREATE FUNCTION IFSDIR(dirname VARCHAR(500))
RETURNS TABLE
(
filename varchar(640),

type varchar(10),
access_time timestamp,
modify_time timestamp,
change_time timestamp,

owner char(10),
group char(10)
)
EXTERNAL NAME "myfunctn"

LANGUAGE RPGLE

PARAMETER STYLE DB2SQL
NO SQL
NOT DETERMINISTIC
NO EXTERNAL ACTION
NOT FENCED
NO SCRATCHPAD
NO FINAL CALL
DISALLOW PARALLEL
CARDINALITY 1

Would be grateful for any help.
