Are you privy to any info on if and when we will have native/direct 
access to tape from the Power6 Blades?

That feature was in the last VIOS release and it works like a champ.  I 
am backing up direct to tape now.  NO more virtual tape first.
VIOS level 2.1.1.10-FP21
