You really need to get off of 65535 - but that is not the problem, I believe. That would not help here. The issue is, the vertical bar shortcut is NOT an invariant character - so you cannot rely on it being the same "character" in a different code page.

I would check the new scheduler, as to its CCSID and how it relates to you. Ask them about the QCCSID value, also.

No, we had the other concat but in the frenzy I forgot it. As you can imagine when I arrived this the shop was like a beehive that had just been kicked.

Thanks to all, we've seen that there IS a difference in CCSID, and I'm trying to get CONCAT to work instead of the short hand. Actually, before today I didn't even KNOW the shorthand. Is part of the problem that normally we're on CCSID = 65535?
