Using Robot Scheduler, I set up a job to check every 15 minutes for 3
active jobs. If there aren't 3 active, then end and restart.

This also sounds good. I wouldn't need to run it that often, but just
before nightly batch runs would be good.

Make sure that you keep a copy of the report that you are emailing so
that you can always resend it if needed.

We use Gumbo Spoolmail to deliver the email & I have a background
process where the report is sent to the EMAIL outq and I determine the
recipient based on the spoolfile attributes. These are sent internally
and externally.

Once sent, the spoolfile goes to outq EMAILSAV.

To resend, just change the spoolfile back to the email outq.

All of our monthend reports go to MONTHEND and get saved to MONTHENDSV. If
we need to reprocess, we just move the spoolfiles back to MONTHEND. That
part's easy, what's a pain is finding all the HelpSystems Sequel statements
that email spreadsheets to users. That's hundreds of CL's, with dozens of
emailed result sets. While I can recreate all the results as needed, it is
a pain.

I could probably forward you the inbox with our agents in it.

Thanks, but I'm going first with the Robot Scheduler check for active jobs,
then the route suggested by Bruce Vining. While the results will be less
robust, I also don't have to use any other resources. If I try and pull
the Lotus Notes admin, I'm sure how quickly I'll get to the top of the
priority list. Guess that marks me as a lone wolf type of systems analyst,
but it's also really my problem to solve, not theirs.
