Judging by this, it may be cheaper to simply send the backup tapes by regular mail and but a new Model 820 at the other end. They sell used for less than $1000.

Compass wise CA is only a few degrees off from WA when starting in Chicago.

Well. while it was only 2 business days late, the fact neither IBM or the shipper could give us the same delivery 2 times in a row. Also the client wasn't overly impressed with his $200K+ computer system wedged in between someones household goods.

Since the machine to the LA area it probably 30 degrees off... :)
