Yes. Mark began by saying that running ILE programs and service programs in the default activation group was a problem. But that's not necessarily a problem. Later he indicated that the customer wanted better performance.
Little red flags began popping up in my mind as Mark described a case where an application is written in a platform agnostic manner, relying on JDBC, from a vendor that doesn't really understand IBM i or use toolbox interfaces, and a customer wanting better performance.
I can almost hear a vendor saying they get much better performance under MS SQL Server, and implying that an AS/400 may simply not be up to snuff - like get a real database server - that sort of problem.
