Start with IBM's Infocenter site - V6R1 is at -

Look in the menu on the left for "Basic system operations". There are probably similar items in the InfoCenter for other releases.

It has been a long time since an actual manual has been available. I may have missed seeing one, but here is one from V4R1 "System Operation for New Users: /SC41-3200/" <http://publib.boulder.ibm.com:80/cgi-bin/bookmgr/DOCNUM/SC41-3200-00>-

The information in these manuals is probably also in the link for V6R1, but I've found that the old manuals are often easier to work with than the web.

You could google those book numbers and see what you find - I notice that the SC41-4203 was still available on the V5R1 Infocenter site.
