Michael,
Thank You for your reply. But mkdir does not solve my problem. Unless I
have
open QNTC list or Interactive session with
wrklnk '/qntc/*' it does not connect. I would get:
wrklnk ('/qntc/ceisp')
Object not found. Object is /qntc/ceisp.
MKDIR DIR('/qntc/ceisp')
Directory ceisp has not been created. Network Server directory ceisp
already exists.
File system error occurred. Error number 3464.
mkdir '/qntc/ceisp/temp'
Object not found. Object is /qntc/ceisp/temp
wrklnk '/qntc/ceisp/temp'
Object not found. Object is /qntc/ceisp/temp
Any other suggestions?
Thank You
Gary

Subject: Re: Again QNTC Question
Having the system browsing a QNTC list can take a long time. It would
probably be quicker with a more modern OS version, but that's not always
changeable. Do you need to see every PC/server on your network from the
iSeries? If you're only going to access a server or two, use the mkdir
command on your iSeries to access a specific server, like mkdir
/qntc/myserver. Put that in your startup script. You may also want to use
this command to set an environment variable: ADDENVVAR
ENVVAR(QIBM_ZLC_NO_BROWSE) VALUE(1) LEVEL(*SYS)

Hello.to
I need Some Help with QNTC.
When I try to do: wrklnk '/qntc/*'
It takes about 6 to 7 hours to build the whole list of servers & PCs.
It takes approximately 10 minutes to list 1 Server/PC.
Also I get the following Msg:
"Session initialization error with Network Server ABC1."
Message ID . .. . . . . : CPDB050
When I try to use iSeries Navigator it takes about the same 6 to 7 hours
open the list of servers/PCs.Navigator,
If I keep my PC running with open QNTC list only then I can access
Servers/PCs and run my network jobs. As soon as I close iSeries
Iand
cannot access any Servers/PCs under QNTC.
I did a research on line, there are just few posting about this problem
all of it is very old from 2000-2003.list
We are running V5R2M0 on model 820
Any Help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Gary
